Happy Birthday to me!
Oh, friends! So very, very much has happened since I last typed on this momentarily forsaken blog.
Thursday:
Worked. Had Drexel Orientation. Online. We used a virtual classroom program called Wimba. It was actually pretty cool. The prof used the main screen to give a slide show while she lectured to us. The bottom of the window was divided in half. On portion was devoted to a class roster, which also served for a means to raise hands, show that we understood a concept or needed further explanation and even what mood we were in. Way cool. The other half was devoted to a chat forum. This is where I had to giggle. You could either send a message to the class as a whole, or individual persons. Hilarious was when one person sent a message to another individually small talking and the prof was like: "uh, kids, just like in real life, the teacher can still hear you talking in the back of the room"
Notice the lack of rust!
Notice that she has all four hubcaps!
Notice that she is green, my favorite color!
Notice that she is mine!
Did I mention, only 118,000 miles.
For a 1995, that's excellent!
Because it was my birthday (coincidence...this was not a birthday present) my daddy even splurged on the pretty "Spectacular Peninsulas" license plate.

Friday:
I worked. And then I started reading Brisingr--which I was not actually supposed to be able to do, as the release was at midnight on Friday, not during my lunch break and while I was in a back room, therefore being able to listen to it on book on CD...but, whatever.
Then, we went out to Graydon's Crossing which really just made me want to go to England and enjoy an actual English pub. But, such are the trials of my life. I had a Banana Split Martini, which was delicious. And an Emerald Isle, which was disgusting. Whatever possessed someone to ruin perfectly good champagne with midori? Gross and wrong. But, clearly, someone else paid, so it was all good. And then I had a Blue Breeze, which was once again delicious. Yay!
Saturday:
What a beautiful day! Perfect birthday weather. Good job, God and/or Helios. So, I went to work because MissM and BestBossEVER! wanted to see Penni Lane, and then I stopped by the park and then I went to the street fair and then the farmer's market and then another park and then I almost finished reading Brisingr at said park and then I went to get ice cream with Monoca.
And then, Monoca was all like, "Mmm, this banana split is delicious, but you're a bad fish mommy because you are killing your fish with too little space" and then we went to Meijer and I was all "OMG, PONIES! Fishy tanks are sooooooo expensive!" and then we bought a 45 gallon plastic tub (on wheels!) and a new filter and a bubbler for my fishes. And then I went home and filled my tub with water and started the filter.
Sunday:
Went to Scola, which is a choir. Got music. Am singing Alto. blah. I'm told it's good for me. Skip this paragraph if you are not inclined to understand my music-related rant. You see, I sang tenor in high school because that's the part that the choir needed and I am cool enough to be able to blend and conform to the sound of others, so I guess I didn't sound that bad, but I really don't know. Then in college, the director was like, what part do you sing, and I was like...I dunno, what do you need? and they voiced me as a Soprano I. That's the highest part for those of you who are not musical at all but are trying to follow along anyway, and I had been, apparently, ruining my voice with strain by forcing the low notes and contorting my sound to be like that of a boy on said notes. Damn you, public high scool choir teacher, curse you. So, I've sung Soprano I for the past 4 years. In Chamber Choir (other choir that I am in that M. Webb is conducting!) I will be singing Soprano I. So, I am a bit...disconcerted that I am being asked to sing low alto (that's right, Alto 2). It's not just that I don't know how to sing that low anymore, or that I am afraid of straining my voice--I think I've learned how to sing properly now--it's that I am going to have so much trouble hearing the part. I don't know that I'll know what the crap is going on. Like, I just naturally hear the first soprano part. ugh. We'll see how this goes. Supposedly, it's good for my voice to strengthen the lower half in order to support the upper register, but I'm skeptical at best.
Then! I went to work, and then to the Needtobreathe concert. They're a Christian band that your sole chance of knowing is through the P.S. I Love You soundtrack wherein they have the song "More Time". It's a really good song. It was an AWEsome concert. More on that later, I suppose, as this post is already crazy long.
So, I got home around 11:30 and walked into my room and said "uh..."Because there was a shiny new fish tank on a stand in my room where my tub once was. The filter was running and my daddy had built the stand. Built it, kids. Like, with wood and nails, and manliness. And he bought me the tank. Yay!
Monday:
Went on BlackBoard to investigate new classes. Have already, via discussion boards, identified the brown nosers. I made a calendar of due dates and test dates and have a game plan. Whee!
Played with Monoca. Watched Penelope, which was uber, UBER cute. I want a Johnny Martin in my life, though I would definitely settle for a James McAvoy.

Constitutional Convention
To commemorate Constitution Day on September 17th, I would like to
invite all members of the University community to participate in an
Online Constitutional Convention. University community members can
interact with one another to both celebrate and challenge the
Constitution as it currently exists by submitting amendments to its text
for what will culminate in a vote on proposed changes.
All members of the University will have access to an online course that
can be accessed through http://www.drexel.edu/provost/constitution/ .
The course materials include the text of the Constitution, readings and
commentary, and opportunities to propose and discuss ideas for change.
The site will grow and develop over the coming weeks, and we invite you
to visit often to contribute to the debates that emerge.
We hope that these online discussions will encourage community members
to think about and participate in this country's ongoing experiment in
democratic self-government. We invite students, staff, and faculty to
think creatively and critically about how envisioning the Constitution
differently might help us become a country that continues to reflect our
best hopes and aspirations.
I would like to thank Professors Rose Corrigan and David Cohen for their
work in developing Drexel's Online Constitutional Convention as well as
the members of IRT's Online Learning Team for implementing this exciting
activity.

Why, life? Why?!?!
I must first stray from that point, however, to lament two things.
1) FauxRockBro is an internet hog. I can barely check my email because he's constantly streaming and downloading and God knows what else and I'm on the wireless, so I am basically on scraps.
2) TotallyshouldbemyBro is getting a divorce. We talked about it; he's a shoo-in for annulment, which takes the sting away a bit for him...weirdo...
Okay, enough of that. You should all be proud! On Sunday, I made crepes for my parents' anniversary, which really isn't until tomorrow, but I don't have time for that shit in the middle of the week. Seriously, they were a pain. I went through three pans that were not conducive to my crepe needs before I found a good one. Plus, they take forever. But it was worth it...they were delicious. And I even bought the spray kind of whipped cream. Yay!
Later that night, I went to grandma's to make lasagna with Knuckles (being my crazy uncle). He's been trying to be my friend for like, ever, and this was the best he could come up with. It was still loads of fun, though! We made lots of jokes about slutty oil (as opposed to extra virgin olive oil...which we were at the dregs of, so he was coaxing it out and I observed that slutty oil would be nice for situations such as these).
Then (yes, after the slutty oil comments) we discovered that there was a bottle of Patron in the freezer. Insert squeal of delight here. After three shots, grandma told me no more shots of tequila. Apparently, grandma is out of practice dealing with shenanigan-prone children. Teehee. Luckily, my grandpa is an alocholic, so there was plenty of grenadine and oj for my Tequila Sunrise. Grandma must have seen me rifling through the cabinets through the window (she was out on the porch at the time) and sent stoneruncle's girlfriend in to see what I was up to. We shall call her Champion, because she does not drink typically, but upon entering the house, had me make her a drink. Then she got drunker and drunker and sang very loudly along with "We are the Champions," the infamous rock ballad by the masters Queen. So loudly, in fact, that I heard her from the house and went out to the barn to investigate. Hilarious.
Then I asserted my dominance as the family's new alchy by getting five hours of sleep, making breakfast, and being the only one without a hangover. I am the Champion of the World.
In other news, Awkward!Toby has taken to telling me that I should not be friends with BestBossEVER! because he is married. In mocking this conclusion, which I quite promptly told BestBossEVER! as my latest Awkward!Toby story, BestBossEVER! and I concluded that I may not, therefore, be friends with Awkward!Toby either. In the work setting, I am only allowed to be socially amicable toward $port and Miss Michelle. Oh, and I can be sympathetic toward Suz., who's hubby is living in a different city. But they still love each other. Long, boring story, involving kids not wanting to switch schools and getting depressed away from home, etc, etc. Oh! and I'm allowed to glean information from current wives on how to be a future good wife, but not actually be friends. I guess this means no free hot chocolate for me this winter...
Oh! And Google created a browser. Their info on it is in comic book form.
So...when do I pledge my allegiance and unwavering loyalty to them? Is that now, or do they need one more tiny pawn for total world domination?
