Oh, high school

One of my high school friends is getting divorced. This is actually making me feel better about *not* being married yet.

Also, one of my profs is giving us a chance to redo the last assignment before she hands them back because most of us got "below a 90%" I am so proud of myself for not freaking out. It was out of 5 points. A 90% would be 4.5 out of 5...and our grade is out of 100 points total. This is so nothing to worry about.

Wheee!

I forgot how nice sleeping in can be.

Penni Lane is undergoing routine maintenace today, so I have no options for leaving....

Merrr...

Daddy says that he canot fix the leak on the passenger side.  Gross.  This means that, as horrid as the prospect is, I will have to clean off the entire hood of my car before driving.  Zawhat?!?!?!

I am that person that you all hate that lets the wind clean off her car as she drives down the road.  I am too lazy for these shennanigans.  Too lazy.  I don't know what I shall do.  On the plus side, I only ever work three mornings a week.  But still!

Dredful business, this cleaning off the car is.

In other news, HSM3 was not as bad as MonoAWEsome said it was.  She lies and is full of hate.  It was fun and upbeat.  The only awful thing was the ending song.  Everything else was just what it was expected to be and should have been.  Golly, Mono, why are you such a Debbiedowner and a hating meannie face?  Batman liked the movie!

Wheee!

Also, I have started doing IPL.  Moi, it's ridiculous.  Why can't you take regular classes so that you can hate things like IPL and Dialog and Grant writing like me?!?!  Ah, well.

Ooo! Ooo!  And!  Fakemom helped me pick out classes.  She has a knack for finding good combinations of slacker and difficult and medium classes.  She's also good at telling which profs are bitches base don their info.  Like...she just *knows*.

So, I am taking Cataloging and Classification, Academic Library Service (Fakemom says that I shouldn't bother with Public...I already know it all...and if I do work at a public libe, it'll be like I took Honors Library Service instead of regular), Foundations of Information Systems, and Digital Libraries.  Yay!

Toi, I am calling you right now.  Why don't you love me?

Dear four friends who read this blog:

Words can not express how very truly and deeply I miss you.  I could never have dreamed of better friends and companions than you lot.

Love,
~me

Dear Prudence

Why do the Beatles think that Prudence is no fun?  She comes out to play plenty!  When it's safe.  And no one is looking.

I happen to like being prudent, thank you very muchly.

In additional news, I fail at being productive.  I got up super early and did nothing today.  Well, I did watch Doctor Who.  And Leatherheads.  Not worth it, kids, although Johnny K is nice to look at all muddy and not as good as George Clooney.  I think it ended that way because Clooney directed it.  Hmm.

In other news, I have been told in the last week that I am getting "a little thicker around the middle" and that I am so thin now that I am in need of a sandwich.

Seriously.  Which is it?  Am I too fat or too skinny?

More time

Needtobreathe sums it up for me.

Not only do I need to breathe, desperately, but they also have a good song that expresses my life right now (plus I saw them in concert like..a month ago...and they were really good)...

Good things are coming.  I can make good things happen for the good people in my life that I love.  Please don't worry now even though I cannot make it happen at this instant.  It will turn around; I need more time.

Right now, however, I am CRAZY stressed.  Moi, do you use Dialog in any of your classes?  It's a redonkulously complicated database.  Stupid, if you ask me.  My prof literalyl told the class, "It's a bit outdated, but it's the system with the steepest, longest learning curve.  You'll be frustrated with the program for the next three weeks at least, but once you learn Dialog, you'll be able to use anything."

Skip over the part where she told us that it is going to be crazy difficult.  I am focusing on the introductory clause: "It's a bit outdated"...really?  then shouldn't we fixodent and forget it?

So say what's on your mind, cause I can't figure out what's inside.

Toi!  Can we be friends next week?  I would call you, but every time I think about it, I assume you are asleep.  And I already got yelled at by one of you ::cough:: Pomme! ::cough:: about doing that.  Thusly, I have refrained.

In other news, BestbossEVER! thinks that bff is in love with me.  On the one hand, I don't believe him.  On the other hand, I am a stupid, stupid person who does not understand these things (have I told you awkward I didn't know we were on a date stories before?!?!) so he could toally be right and I could be tormenting my bff.

Ugh!  Someone tell me what's going on there.  Please.  Cause either way, I don't know what to do.

And that leads you to believe that I'm an alcoholic because...?

Yay for people at work!  MissM (who used to drive me to work pre-Penni Lane!) and I are bffs!  Not really, but we are friends in real life.  And on Facebook.

But, what prompts this post is that this Saturday, she is having a librarian friends from across the state party, and I am invited.  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So, I get to hang out with all of the cool, rockin' librarians that she knows and net-work.  And eat.  And net-work.  AND!  They're all really excited that I was all "I know!  I'll make pudding shots!"

Don't worry Moi!  When I come to visit, we'll have lava cakes and make pudding shots and the unused portion of the fifths will be left in your freezer!

Don't worry Toi!  I'll save out a few and you may have them!

Don't worry MMMono (I know, it's a bad name, but nothing seems to fit you in my blog world...becasue you are so AWEsome, clearly.).  Don't worry AWEsomecouldber00mmmmie!  No, not that either...in any event, don't you worry your little head about it, precious.

No wories, Pomme!  When I come to visit you, we can have crepes and mimosas!

So, I came home from shopping (becasue I had to get pudding and TripleSec and Creme de Cocoa--chocolate covered banana flavored shots!) and apples for the pie I promised to make for $port) and my mom is all "OH MY GOD!  Why do you have so much alcohol!  You had better not put that in my freezer.  I am sick of seeing it there.  It's so horrible..." and then her voice began to fade into the sound of adults in the Peanuts cartoons...

So, let me get this straight...I have a fifth and a pint and I'm an alcoholoic.  This, mother, is why I get confused when, on the rare occassion I have a glass of wine or a drink with dinner, you get all upset that I didn't offer you any.

In other news, BestBossEVER!'s mother-in-law fell down the stairs at their house today.  She's been living there for a few weeks now.  In any event, she fractured her wrist, femur, and tibia.  Oh no's!  BestBossEVER! feels really bad because it happened like...10 minutes after he left for work and wife was at work, and there is not phone in the basement where mom-in-law kinda chilled for FOUR HOURS until eldest son got home from school.  So, I told him to stop feeling guilty, like, 27 times, because it's not like he pushed her and even if he would have left 15 minutes later or whatever, she would still be broken-boned.  He kept guilting so I told him to stop, else I would punch him in the face.  No, really.  That shit's verbatim.  And I still have a job.  Best. Boss. Ever.  So I'm going to make him a pie to help him feel better.

Final note on the alchy...I would like to point out that I hide it in my room becasue it's expensive!  So it pisses me off when my brother drinks it.  So...I find it disconcerting that my mom thinks I'm an alcoholic based on what she knows about, because there just so happens to be a LOT more...

doo doo doo....

So posessive...

Instead of doing homework, I have devoted my life to the Doctor.  My Doctor.  I just watched "The Girl in the Fireplace"--you know, the once about Madame de Pompadour!

Well, it made me really, really sad.  Poor Doctor Who!  omg, it made me hate stupid Rose Tyler, who always needs to be saved, and I'm over Mickey the dunce. But poor Doctor Who!  He meant to go back to bring her along, he truly did!  I blame Rose for needing that stupid hug and that stupid ship that they were on being all...not nice.

But jumping through the time window on a horse.  Hot.  The little wink.  Hotter.  I'm getting used to this regeneration of the Doctor.  I likes him.  Though, I must admit that I did like the old Doctor...he seemed a better fit for Rose than this one does...because he is so hot and I pretty much want him.

Okay, I really need to do my homework now and stop living my life vicariously through DVDs of television shows.  But the British are so...desireable!  I would like very much to be one.

In other news, I am currently installing a fireplace in my bedroom.  No, there's totally enough room...if we expend into the yard...get off it, it'll work!  Then the Doctor can come and save me!

In other, real news, I'm still on a homecoming high.  Wheeeeeeee!

The Heart of Life

So, you know how I have a propsensity to have crushes on 30-something-year-old men?  Well I do.

See my obsession with:
Billy Boyd, espeically in that Mist and Shadow scene in LOTR:RotK
James McAvoy (especially in Penelope, when she's trying to guess his instrument!)
Aragorn (not Viggo, but his portrayal of the character)
Frank Sinatra whilst in his 3os

Well, it has come to my attention (via Auntie V) that it might be becasue said age group gives me the most attention.  No! It's true!

See my interaction with:
BestBossEVER!
Mr. W!
BoozeBuddy
randomdadatlibrary
Awkward!T
CrazyBarHop
etc.

And now...well, I don't know what to call him, but I am relatively certain that he thinks I'm cute, as I overheard him telling a co-worker that "The sub today is nice".  And he said "nice" in the guy-to-guy "ni-hi-hice" sort of way.  Ugh.
